Important information about access to the conference site !!

The conference takes place at the Minatec center, walking distance from the main train and bus station (where shuttle buses from Lyon airport arrive).

To reach Minatec by foot from the stations, follow the underground walkway in the train station which passes under the railroad tracks. You will arrive at place Robert Schuman. Then go right on avenue Doyen Louis Weil which leads you to the front of Minatec (see maps below).

Foot and Tram access to Minatec and Hotel Europole from stations

the conference site

To reach Minatec by tramway, take tram B direction "Cité internationale", and get off at that stop (the last one). There is a tram B stop at the train station. Only buy a single tram ticket, since a local transportation pass for the duration of the meeting will be given to all attendees at the EPDIC13 registration desk. You should cancel the ticket in the blue post before boarding the tram.

Beware, on Sunday, a Marathon will take place all morning and part of the afternoon. As a consequence, vehicle traffic will be blocked in the area Sunday up to roughly 16h00.
Furthermore, the event will attract a large number of people and parking will be a major issue in the area.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
As a consequence, you are strongly encouraged if possible to reach the Minatec center using tramway B or on foot. Trams run very frequently and there are stops close to all of the hotels in town.
If you must come by car, the best is to arrive after 16h00.
Before 16h00, the following vehicle traffic restrictions apply (see map below):
Green : prefered access to the Minatec area on Sunday. Red : road are blocked there.

From 5h00 to 20h00, traffic is blocked between rue Durant-Savoyat and the roundabout des Martyrs. Between 7h00 and 16h00 the whole rue des Martyrs is blocked.

Car access to the Minatec area is possible (expect heavy traffic) through rue Félix Esclangon. For example, take exit 3b of the A480 motorway and then rue Ampère, rue Diderot and rue Félix Esclangon.
It will be also possible to access Minatec by rue des Martyrs at all times from the rond-point de Sassenage, at the north end of the peninsula, but only by showing a pass ("laissez-passer"). We can send you by e-mail a laissez-passer on request.

Besides the particular difficulty on Sunday, parking is in general difficult near the conference site, and indeed all around Grenoble; traffic jams are also frequent in the city. Therefore all attendees are encouraged to use public transportation or travel by foot during the conference; as mentioned all conference participants will be given a pass good for unlimited travel on the local transportation system for the duration of the conference.
