Abstract Submission:

Participants, who would like to make an oral or poster presentation at the conference, must submit an abstract.
Only abstracts sent via email will be evaluated by the Program Committee.
No hardcopy submission will be considered.
The presenting author must be named first in the authors list and must register and pay the registration fee.
The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract before submission.
Authors must indicate in which MicroSymposium they wish their presentation to appear and which type of presentation is preferred: Oral or Poster. Acceptance as a speaker in a given MS will be communicated to the author after the decision has been made by the respective chairpersons. The contribution will be automatically redirected to the poster session if the request for an oral presentation cannot be fulfilled.
Notification of acceptance as an oral or poster contribution will be sent by the end of August.
Invited speakers (plenary speakers and keynote lecturers at MS) are permitted to submit a poster presentation in addition to their talk.
Proceedings will be published after the conference in the Powder Diffraction Journal.
Instructions for Abstracts:
The abstract must be provided as a .doc or .rtf file, according to the templates below and sent as an attachment to the following e-mail address:
The subject line must contain "EPDIC13 abstract" followed by the last name of the presenting author, the selected MS and the preference for an oral or poster presentation,
e.g. : EPDIC13 abstract, Smith, MS3, Poster
The submitting author must indicate in the e-mail its full professional address.
Abstract format:
The abstract must be written in English.
The abstract will be printed in two columns format on an A4 page. Each abstract must fit into a single column. Abstracts that are too long to fit into a single column will not be accepted and the author(s) will be required to submit a shortened version.
The total allowed area is 8 x 24 cm. The font type “Times New Roman” must be used throughout the title, address and body of text.
The title (bold, size 10 pt) is followed by the name(s) of the author(s) in normal text 10 pt. The presenting author is first and underlined. Affiliations (10 pt in italics) must be concisely reported, with no line breaks. It is recommended to add the e-mail of the presenting author on the next line.
The body text character size is 9 pt with single spacing and full justification. The body text of the abstract should be a single block. No indentations and no blank lines should appear between paragraphs. However, a blank line should precede the body of the abstract, the references and the keywords (if any).
The references, indicated by square brackets, [1], [2] should be typed continuously with font size 8, according to the model below.
Three keywords, separated by commas (use bold and lower cases) terminate the abstract.
Inserting a graphic is NOT recommended and must only be used if strictly necessary (min. res. 300 dpi). Please consider that the figure has to be included within the area of the printed abstract, which is quite small.
Beware : The maximum size of the file containing the abstract cannot exceed 3Mb.
